Corneille along the joy

Discover the work of Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), a prolific artist and an extraordinary colorist. Throughout his life, Corneille sought joy everywhere: he celebrated it in the lushness of nature, in various parts of the world, but also alongside his friends, the artists who fascinated him, and in his tributes to the beauty of women.

The exhibition allows you to experience all the creative phases of the artist, for whom printmaking was a constant practice. With more than 150 works, the journey will captivate you with the diversity of his approaches, the consistency of his energy, his poetry, his connection to animal life, and all that makes the world splendid. He is one of the greatest colorists of the second half of the 20th century, from his CoBrA years to his admiration for Van Gogh, another Dutch artist who lived in Auvers-sur-Oise.
